Here's something you should know about. As we moved into the world of video, DSLR cameras are now offering digital video capability. I have just purchased a Canon 500D DSLR Camera for the purpose of this blog. When I tried the digital video option on the camera I found that the movie, when set at 1280x1080 was only playing for 10 seconds then the camera switched itself off.

The cause of this was the Card, it was not high spec enough to handle the HD speed required to process the video images. If you encounter this problem you could find replacing the card (which I did) was a simple answer.

If you did not purchase a bag with your camera do so as soon as possible. It could be the best decision you ever made.

The store will be able to advise you but your camera should fit snugly into the bag and have room for a lens or two. It should also be able to house any other bits and pieces you might have like a speed-light, spare battery packs or even your battery grip. You may additionally want to store a lens cloth, microfiber cleaning cloths, lens caps and lens hoods.

As you can see there are a number of items which could eventually find their way into your camera bag. Essentially the bag will be to hold your camera safely when not in use and during transport. Your bag will need to be well padded and if you are going to be outdoors, perhaps even in the rain it is sensible to get one that is waterproof. This will not only help to keep moisture at bay but add to protect your camera from sudden changes in temperature which can lead to condensation forming. As nice as it might seem to have a leather camera bag they are not a particularly good choice these days as they tend to harbour the growth of fungi which can damage the electronics. View our range of Camera bags...
